Hopeful Farmer. Let me tell you where it started.
Everything changed when Ella and I left our beach place and moved twenty minutes inland to a neighborhood of windy, unpaved streets, trees and unexpected wildlife. We found a “fixer upper” which was NOT our plan(more on that later) but it sat on a half-acre–big enough to “be something.”
Early days of the property
But what? I had no experience planting anything. I grew up camping and hiking, getting lost in forests and deserts, climbing mountain, but never had a mentor to show me how to be a good steward of the land. Could I plant things that grow?
Lots-of-Things-Happened—---
and now we have over 60 trees on our property, avocados,
oranges, persimmons, apricots, plums, and pomegranates…but there has been a lot more failure than success-like writing, parenting, marriage, life–it is all a work in progress. The best we can do is try to stay positive, do the best we can, and always stay hopeful.
Current--and always growing
It’s an almost unfairly perfect metaphor-so that’s what Hopeful Farmer is all about–and I am grateful to share it with you…I have lots of ideas, and fun surprises to come!
